The Airbnb Section Most Hosts Leave Blank (Without Realizing It)
Many Airbnb hosts think they only have 500 characters to sell their property. In reality, they're leaving one of the platform's most valuable sections completely empty.

The Airbnb Section Most Hosts Leave Blank (Without Realizing It)
Many hosts think Airbnb only gives them 500 characters. They're wrong.
While reviewing an Airbnb listing in Denmark, I noticed something surprisingly common.
The host had written a great summary.
Beautiful sea views.
Sauna.
Hot tub.
Peaceful location.
Everything you'd expect in a strong opening description.
Then... nothing.
The "Your Property" section was completely empty.
Not because the host didn't have anything else to say.
Because they appeared to believe the 500-character summary was the entire description.
You're Probably Leaving Valuable Space Unused
Airbnb gives hosts multiple opportunities to tell the story of their property.
The summary is simply the introduction.
The "Your Property" section is where you expand on it.
It's where guests decide whether your listing truly fits the stay they're imagining.
Unfortunately, many listings stop after the first paragraph.
Thousands of characters of valuable selling space are left completely blank.
Features Don't Sell Themselves
A hot tub isn't just a hot tub.
It's where guests imagine ending the evening under the stars.
A sea view isn't just something you can see through the window.
It's coffee on the terrace while watching the sunrise.
A fireplace isn't just another amenity.
It's the feeling of coming back after a long walk on a cold afternoon.
Your summary can't tell every story.
The "Your Property" section can.
Guests Want More Than a List of Amenities
Many hosts spend thousands upgrading their property.
Then they describe it in three sentences.
Guests don't simply want to know what your property has.
They want to know what staying there feels like.
The longer description gives you room to create that picture.
This Isn't About Writing More
Adding words doesn't automatically improve conversions.
Adding clarity does.
Your longer description should answer the questions guests still have after reading your summary.
- Who is this property perfect for?
- What makes the location special?
- How does the space flow?
- What experiences will guests remember?
- Why should they choose this property over the next one?
One Empty Section Can Cost You Bookings
Guests compare multiple listings before making a decision.
If one listing helps them imagine their stay while another barely describes the property, which feels more trustworthy?
Confidence comes from information.
Not hype.
Not exaggeration.
Simply helping guests understand exactly what they're booking.
The Next Time You Review Your Listing...
Open your Airbnb description.
Don't stop after the 500-character summary.
Scroll down.
If your "Your Property" section is empty, you've probably left one of your most valuable conversion tools unused.
Your summary gets the guest interested.
Your full property description gives them the confidence to book.
